Blossom week in Kyoto is busy, but it does not have to be stressful. The secret is to go early and to go small.
Sunrise temples
The big temples are quiet at seven. By ten they are full. So we did one famous place each morning, then spent the rest of the day in tiny neighbourhood parks.
The smallest park had the prettiest tree.
Eating well
Picnic under the trees with treats from a food hall. Everyone does it, and it is lovely.
