Colour and calm in Marrakech
Souks with small kids, and the courtyards where we hid from the heat.

Marrakech is loud, bright and busy. With small kids, we balanced every busy morning with a calm afternoon.
The souks
Go in the morning, hold hands, and pick one thing to look for. We hunted for blue scarves and found a whole street of them.
Busy mornings, quiet courtyards. That is the rhythm that worked.
Hiding from the heat
Stay in a riad with a pool or a shady courtyard. Afternoons are for naps, mint tea and reading by the fountain.
