Paddling the turquoise lake

The water really is that colour. It comes from tiny bits of rock in the glacier melt, and it looks even brighter in person.

We hired a canoe for an hour and paddled to the far end of the lake. The kids counted ducks and the grown-ups counted strokes.

Tips

Go early, before the wind picks up. Bring warm layers, even in summer, and a snack for the walk back.
