Some of our favourite travel memories are just lunches. This was one of them: market fruit, warm bread and a stripy blanket on a hill.
Our picnic rules
Buy everything at the morning market. Pack a knife, a cloth and a bag for rubbish. Eat at the best view, not the nearest one.

Why it works
It is cheap, it is relaxed, and nobody has to sit still in a restaurant. The kids rate every picnic out of ten. This one got eleven.
